Special Counsel Jack Smith issues a superseding indictment in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case and new charges against Trump, including for allegedly flaunting plans for an attack on Iraq. The charges pursuant to 18 USC § 793, “Gathering, transmitting or losing defense information”, can add 10 or 20 years of prison per defendant, each of the DOJ Obstruction charges under 18 U.S. Code § 1512 adds another 20 years in prison for each defendant with 18 U.S.C. § 1001, the False Statements statue adding 5 years per charge.
