The Case of the Fake Crying Lady:
In this case the defendant was scheduled for sentencing, and her defense attorney requested that the court adopt probation's recommendation, except for the proposed jail time. The defense emphasized that the defendant was working two jobs, including a new position as an office manager at a doctor’s office, where she was earning significantly more income. Additionally, the defendant was caring for her elderly parents, both of whom were battling cancer. The defense noted the defendant's willingness to enter a treatment program and requested more time for her to turn herself in, so as not to lose her jobs.

The prosecution highlighted that the jail time recommendation was based not only on missed tests but also on positive results for controlled substances. The defendant acknowledged her use of a controlled substance, stating that she had used it once with her father, who also uses the substance, in an attempt to help him seek treatment. Despite this claim, the court noted that there were two separate positive tests for controlled substances, which contradicted the defendant's assertion that she had only used it once. The defendant explained that she misunderstood the process and believed the second test was a retest of the original sample.

During the hearing, the court expressed concerns about the defendant’s continued use of controlled substances while on bond, a violation of her conditions. The court acknowledged the situation as a misdemeanor but found sufficient grounds to deviate from a non-probationary sentence, citing the defendant's need for intensive outpatient treatment and attendance at AA meetings.

Ultimately, the court sentenced the defendant to 18 months of probation, with additional conditions including fines, random drug testing, and the completion of outpatient treatment. The defendant was also ordered to serve 93 days in jail, with the balance of her sentence suspended, in recognition of the three days she had already served.

FINAL VERDICT:93 DAYS IN JAIL FOLLOWED BY PROBATION

Doesn't take 7-10 days for a cocaine test to come back. Drugs like that show an instant result...and she knows it

She’s a fake! She uses her parents and/or father as an excuse instead of owning up to the obvious that she has a drug problem.

A case of like father like daughter? The Judge called BS on her. I don't get people who try to put one over on judges who have probably heard every excuse in the world. But they think they can fool the judge regardless. SMH

She's way too old to believe this seasoned jurist has any intention of believing what she's shoveling. If he ever wore boots for all the road apples he had to listen to, he doesn't any longer. He's also sitting on a raised dais, so he'd remain unaffected either way.
