Hey Hoon I got a unit in as well. I'll be posting up a vid later on. I've just bit the bullet and have been using the CO2 cartridges as well. I am going to be testing bike pump for 1-3bar preinfusion then CO2 for ramp up.

bike pump?! This is the kind of innovation i can get behind, My handheld pump woul work perfectly with this! Love that we have two options. Hoping this machine is under $200. I'd buy it in a hear beat

Well you did it, well done. As Marshall mentioned, French press is the way to go. A lot less messing around unless you only want espresso. Maybe one day try the Illy Beans clasico. Its an arabica blend but wow is it good.

Great review! But I think for traveling or camping, a French press is a lot less difficulty.

Using co2 cartridge will cost about $0.1 each cup, assuming there is no leakage in the system which is always challenge in a pneumatic system.

Great intro to this new Xbar espresso device, Hoon. Sadly I do agree on the ethics of the CO2 cartridge waste.
What was the time and output of this test? The grounds size appeared to me, rather course.
The cartridge test will be very interesting. I hope I make it live next time. Just an aside, your editing is very good, amigo.

Lifestyle Labs just released a video on the XBar as well.... moght try a manual bike pump as it acts more similar to the co2.
