Donald Trump’s Colorado ballot exclusion for insurrection possibly being appealed and going to the Supreme Court is analyzed by legal experts. “Colorado is executing its state's rights to decide who should be on their own ballot,” legal expert Elie Mystal tells Joy Reid. Noah Bookbinder, president of Crew, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, also joins The ReidOut to discuss.

Enforce the 14th Amendment and the clause requiring a peaceful transfer of power. Insurrectionists must not be qualified to hold any government office.

As an American I realize there is a distinct possibility that we are one election away from goose-stepping authoritarianism. I will do my part to keep that from happening, but just like the people in 1930's Europe, it may not be enough.

States do have rights - but states have no rights to stop people from voting for who they want to vote for - and the 14 amendment is Federal and not state!
