Two years ago, nobody would have expected that TVC would have the best domestic version of a Vader.

I fully support the idea of completing the circle for the OT Vader. As mentioned on Instagram, I’ve ordered three of him. If an Empire version comes out, I’m picking it up and placing them together. I’ll no longer need any other figure of him in the future.

I’m still surprised they did an edit on the OG image: the chestbox is flipped.

I have 2 Vader's and 3 Leia's, along with an R2 to keep carded, but I'm very excited about getting this Vader in particular since Vader is the one figure I've always bought since POTF2, except for the VC one with the lightning since he wasn't in my neck of the woods! Great figure and cardback! MAKMCSWF strikes again with an early look at a new Vader. Even beating BB to the punch on this one. No small accomplishment! Thanks for the review and, as always, the humor. “He (Ben) won!” Quite the feat as a limited articulation figure! (Though he does have a great pose and likeness.) Cheers, Jason.

He looks great and I'm super excited to get him, but judging from your comparison pics, I think I still like the DSII Removable Helmet Vader more. That one is just such a brilliant figure and probably in my top 3 favourites of all time. But then every figure using this sculpt is great.
My next wanted ones are:
1 - ESB Vader (Bespin Duel) - either on a cardback depicting the Carbon Freezing Chamber or one with him saying he is Luke's father. Or both, and give the second one battle damage and pair it with battle damaged all-new Bespin Luke (and a gantry playset).
2 - ROTS Vader, on the beautiful cardback by Johnny Moustache
3 - Infinities all-white Vader, which I think would be really striking using this sculpt.

I guess my biggest disappointment is how the figure is packaged he kind of looks dorky on cardback, as much as Dark times isn't a great Vader he looks really good without soft goods flooping around.
I kinda wish they'd put some more effort into the plastic bubbles to pose them at least a little, more neutral than squashed maybe?

Maybe its just me, and i don't really collect on card anyway..

Great review Jason!! Shame on Old Ben for taking that cheap shot at Vader before the bell 🤣🤘 Also the old VC 93's helmet is so dated now that it basically looks like a Mcquarrie concept, which is kinda neat.
