This trailer just made me realize what's wrong with Spore. It is utterly unfinished. So much potential.

"How will you create the Universe?" ... Those words have been planted in my mind since I was six. I may not play Spore as much as I used to, but that doesn't mean I'll ever stop loving it. This trailer brings me years of nostalgia that I don't think I'll ever get back. I wish EA was more patient with the development of Spore when Maxis was making it. Otherwise, it would've been a lot better. After hearing that it could've had an Aquatic Stage, I was furious at EA ever since. Well, whatever, I'm just glad I got to play the game when I was little anyway. Otherwise, I'd never learn any of this. Okay, I'm done now.

Okay but can we just talk about how this trailer has some really nice vibe to it.. I can't really explain, but it's so... whimsical.

Spore is probably the only game where we play as the main antagonist-- the Qu.

Spore had such potential...its a shame EA half assed it then abandoned it soon after...thank God for the modding community that has been keeping the legacy alive.

I’ve been seeing all tomorrow’s references in the comments lately, so let me give you a fun fact:
In the space stage, you can actually gain the ability to modify existing creatures in different planets into whatever you want it to be, so you’re pretty much the Qu to these creatures

I can’t tell if that was an official trailer, a really good animation over an okay song or just a drug trip that got put in a meat grinder with a fever dream and came out as a sensory overload.

I always thought a Spore cartoon based on Galactic Adventures would’ve been a great spinoff. It could’ve focused on a Space Crew traveling through the Galaxy. There was potential for so many fun characters and locations, and the Grox would’ve been cool villains.

I desperately wanted Spore as a kid growing up. I remember begging my mom to get me it bc I saw a CD for it at a store for only like $5 but I was incredibly disappointed to find out it was only add-ons for the game

if you look in the background of the creature and tribal stage parts the creatures are not CGI special models but look exactly like real spore creations and even move like it

This makes me feel so sad and nostalgic. Spore could have been so much more.
