The prominent Nigerians, including the leader of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Shettima Yerima, made the call at a colloquium today, June 12, titled: “Securing the future of Nigeria through a new democratic people’s constitution”. Why can't we as black people see the clear problem. The union is not working under the present arrangement where the federal arrangement centred in Abuja where over 55% of our resources are shared by few corrupt men! We need Regional independence. Nigeria needs a minimum of 6-10 independence regions. The regions should be allowed to fend for themselves. The centre at Abuja will have less than 10% of the revenue. Anything outside this - will lead to disintegration. A switch in time saves nine!,
