As owner of a beautiful black labrador, my hint on taking good photos is to set camera to overexposure, meaning that the camera will highlight the shine or reflected light. It's a good way of picking out your black pet's features, and get some great photos!

My brother in law had a beautiful black dog named Midnight. He had her for 15 years, and unfortunately she recently went to doggy heaven early in the morning. Rest in peace Midnight. You brought years of joy to a lot of people.

I seem to recall that, after the release of Marvel's Black Panther, there was a noticeable spike in adoptions of black cats. A bunch of people reported that their local shelters were "out if stock" so to speak, as their black cats had all been adopted.
I say we do something like that again.

My dog is jet black. She's getting old has to be 11-12 and still in very good health and still more active than most dogs. She wandered onto my property and wouldn't leave, so after calling the shelter and no one claimed her after a week I went and got her. Will have been a decade now next year.
