One think the current government does not lack is taking risks and betting against the odds. Even while the farmers protests carry on it is ready to take on OFB unions.

I appreciate the modi govt nature to break the status quo and take decisions decisively in almost all the fields.

Under Modi the defence push is phenomenal as I have been watching the field for nearly 40 years. He removed corruption, allowed DRDO to go ahead with all its researches and inventions in full swing. But for Modi Tejas would have taken another 10 to 15 years. Dismantling all useless Govt institutions which suck the Govt money is the need of the hour.

Modi dismantling old and ageing institutions and reforming them… Meanwhile Congress working overtime to bring member of old Gandhi dynasty as its president. I think that is a good illustration of the difference between these 2 parties.

I have been to more than half a dozen Ordnance Factories across india in last 3 years, infact just today I was in Ordnance Factory Itarsi & I have to say this is a welcome move seeing the inefficiencies of these factories first hand.

We must thank the Modi government for pushing with these reforms without thinking of votes.

"The only way of not making any mistake ever is by not doing anything new"
Like them or hate them, one can't deny the fact that this government is willing to take risks and rolling out 'unconventional' reforms regularly, knowing it can very well backfire. This is only possible when the cabinet is strong and government is confident about their long-term position. This is in comparison to previous governments who for the most part of their tenure played safe and reforms/policy changes were rolled out once in a blue moon.

The most important reform that India as a nation should take immediately is that of judiciary. With this kind of judiciary, every other reform implementation just gets derailed indefinetely

If only most of India knew or cared about the will needed to pass such a major reform

End note i know it will not be easy to do...
But what we can take is this govt is rightfully serious and credible enough to take decisions in the interest of country's defense and progress!
Why should not we support them?

Much needed reforms. OFBs were weakest link in chain of defence.

Edit: surely OFB's served our country well in some capacity, had many patriotic people in it, but sadly OFBs needed to evolve in new century, to keep up to modern war fighting needs, which they couldn't. A PSU style restructuring is a impactfull step forward.
