You’re supposed to remove that loose stitching at the bottom of the vent on coats and jackets. It’s just a temporary stitch, to help the garment keep its shape during shipping, like stitched-up pockets. The trench coat looks weird with it closed, the vent is to give ease and movement to the coat.

I only like 14K for rings, they just get too much wear for any plating technique to withstand wear over time. Naturally, my solid gold rings are much thinner and smaller than I could get with plated ones, but that’s ok. I wish gold prices would go back down. The extremely high prices are from investor-hoarding since the 2008 financial crisis. Before about 2000, the occasional solid gold item was still affordable for many people.
