As a schizophrenic person, its so refreshing to see the topic of psychosis covered with so much respect. No sensationalism, no stigma, no shame, just letting Matt tell his story. I am also happily suprised by this comment section being full of postivity and people relating ❤️ hopefully this inspires more news networks to follow this example

So thankful Matt shared his experience with psychosis. We need more awareness and government support for funding mental health care.

What a comeback. Been a Cage fan for a long time and we all knew something was spiraling with Matt. When the gun charges happened it was almost a releif. Fans like myself knew he was going to get the help he needed wether he accepted it or not, the option was health or jail time. I saw them 2 times on the latest tour and he was like a new person on stage. He was in control and it showed during the entire setlist. Welcome back Matt.

5:22 "I felt like 'how could I let this happen to me?'"
"But you didn't let it happen. It happened."

I think a lot of people need to hear that.

this was a cathartic interview. as someone who's had psychotic episodes i can totally relate to Matts experience. tbh humanity needs to be more understanding regarding this topic. cause having to live a "normal" life while in psychosis is basically impossible.
btw if you guys havent heard Matts band before Cage the Elephant i highly recommend checking them out, theyre called "Perfect Confusion" <3

I was diagnosed with psychosis at around 18 years old due to drug abuse and music absolutely saved me. I don’t know what it is but art can be such a powerful outlet for anyone struggling with something similar.

I was indifferent about Cage The Elephant until they played with a few other bands that I liked in Atlanta two years ago. Cage was hands down the best of all the bands I actually went to see. Not only did they F’ing rock, it was so clear how grateful they were to be doing what they love for thousands every night. They made a fan for life that night. Pulling for Matt!

as someone who has experienced psychosis multiple times, , it does feel so so real when you’re in it no matter how strange the delusions.
