What an end. A post game interview with Earl would have been fantastic.

It’s pretty cool that all these years later Earl can still make it to the finals and challenge people.

I’m so glad I watched this whole entire thing I would’ve never guessed it would end like that

For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would produce a Earl Strickland game and NOT mic Earl Strickland. Dammit!

It's no secret that Earl had a big influence on Shane and Jayson. Jayson actually lived with Earl for awhile. And Shane has said he looked up to Earl. Shane is one of the few people that Earl has said might be as good or possibly better than himself. Shane and Jayson use a longer cue because of Earl. Fedor is starting to use an extension with his cue now also. And he mentions he is going Earl Strickland mode.

Earl is and always will be the best pool player I've ever seen

Oh no, a match like that to end like that.

Every time I see Earl and Shane play I always watch to see if Shane put the cue ball over the line on the break which Earl called him out for in a tournament years ago.

Excellent match. Anyone who has played on these Diamond tables will know that the pots these players were both making consistently are very challenging. Either player could have won. While both players had some luck, Shane got the rolls when he needed them at the end (the 5-7 combination that Earl just missed and the fluke on the 9)

11:20 "and if he'd a hit it it would have just thinned the 2 and gone up table" right but SVB would have had a 75 percent chance of cutting it in. If Earl and SVB play in the prime time of their life it's going to be close but my money would be on Earl.

Some day the world of pool will exist without Earl Strickland, and it just won't be as entertaining.

My 2 favorite players in the world. Earl has always been my favorite. Not his attitude, his game. Shane is just phenomenal!!!!

The wry smile and nod before the lag is priceless, it reminds me of playing against my dad before he passed, mutual respect and familiarity spanning 2 generations! 😊

That was one of the best matches I’ve ever seen! I like Shane but I wanted Earl to win.

Earl is a showman, Many people watch his games just to see him get beat, Professional wise Earl's right in much of what he says....

A 34 year old SVB needed a little luck not once, but twice to beat 57 year old Earl Strickland. Not taking anything away from SVB he’s undoubtedly a great pool player, but Earl Strickland in his prime wouldn’t have jarred that 5 ball the turning point in the game.

When earl lost the lag I can already see what type of earl I'll be seeing in this match. I'm here for it !!
After finishing this match just split the trophy plaque in half and put them both down as champions that was one hell of a match!

Azbtv, thanks for the great coverage here. Please listen back to this at high volume and listen for creaky/popping/tapping sounds. It sounds like someone is gently tapping their fingers on the base of the mic, or constantly moving a mic, or I don't know what. The volume needs to be turned way down to avoid hearing this and luckliy the commentators's word are still audible. It seems worst when all three are engaged, and not present when Al is doing an ad read.
