We here in the UK were so gifted to have André Previn over here for so much time. He really did turn around the LSO and made it his own.

You rock! I had this cassette in 1993. I've listened to 100 versions of this song, and they were all wrong. This is the one. Also, the vinyl makes it so much better!

I went out and bought this vinyl. The best version I've ever hear. Thanks Soundsmith for posting it.

I just discovered you! My music professor today assigned this. It HAD to be the Previn 1971 version (this)! He asked us to write 2 pp as to why he assigned this particular Previn version above all others. He said once we listen to this version we will never be able to hear another. Boy was he right. I thank you so much for your marvelous sound. Superb!

Wow. I used to have this vinyl, a master recording. I let it slip through my fingers. Still my favorite interpretation of this amazing composition

Thanks for posting this. I've been told (more than once) you can't play vinyl records without the clicks and pops, which I know is untrue, but you just showed it here .

I have the same Kenwood. It's definitely worthy of that cartridge.

Someday, I'm going to have an entire rig like that, record included. Thanks for this, couldn't find it anywhere else on youtube.

This is the version of "Rhapsody in Blue" you've been looking for 🙌

"When I woke up it seemed to me that some snatch of a tune I had known for a long time, I had heard somewhere before but had forgotten, a melody of great sweetness, was coming back to me now. It seemed to me that it had been trying to emerge from my soul all my life, and only now... "—Fyodor Dostoyevsky, White Nights
