FIRST TIME HEARING Meatloaf - Paradise By Dashboard Light REACTION

I literally had mixed emotions watching this.

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

I was only sixteen years of age when I heard this for the first time, I’m now 59 and it still sounds incredible ❤

If you will notice the shirt Meatloaf is wearing is commonly worn on Prom night, a formal dance in high school. Quite often back in the day intimacy was involved and promises were made. The end of the song where they can't wait to get away from each other could be 20 years later or more. The song was about the choices you make as a teenager and having to live with those decisions, presented in a rock opera song. Watching your reaction was priceless.

Metaloaf's real name was Marvin Lee Aday. Meatloaf was the nickname his football coach gave him in high school because of his size. Ironically, he was a vegetarian. R.I.P. Meatloaf. You are missed.

Meatloaf was such an amazing entertainer; I believe he was really underrated, and will be missed.

Rock Opera at its very, very finest. He told stories with his music that remain as valid today as when they were written - Jim Stienman was a genius, and Meatloaf was to ultimate performer.

The woman in the video is Karla DeVito, but the vocals were actually performed by Ellen Foley, who recorded on the album "Bat Out of Hell" but did little, if any, touring with Meat Loaf. Karla toured with him and would perform the song live, though she doesn't here. Recently, Ellen and Karla actually got together to release a song a year ago called "I'm Just Happy to be Here".

I was lucky and had fun seeing Meat Loaf live twice. He was a force of nature on stage in the early years.
I will never forget these events. I'm 66 years old now and I still love watching Meat Loaf.

So glad you find Meatloaf so exciting. What you saw in the video is how he really performed live. So sad he's gone...

Rock music like an opera, Mo. You've picked up a top notch classic, written by Jim Steinman and originally sung by Meat Loaf and Ellen Foley. The whole Bat Out of Hell record is a masterpiece and milestone. And your reaction is like that of a girl who sees Father Christmas and the Easter Bunny at the same time for the first time in her life. Like it 😁

Got to be considered a Top 10 ‘rock song’ of all time.

Meatloaf is smiling down from heaven having seen your reaction as it was exactly how he intended for people to feel after hearing/seeing his masterpiece

The baseball announcer is the New York Yankees great announcer Phil Rizzuto. Meatloaf was a huge baseball fan.

I am so happy you enjoyed this all time classic. I know there's a lot to absorb and the adult themes get a little spicy but Mo, you handled it all wonderfully I can't remember you ever reacting to a video quite this way and I loved it. Hun, f you can trust me one more time, please listen to Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad. It's another side of Meatloaf (almost a complete opposite) that I am sure you will enjoy. This man had a voice for the ages. Take care Morenikeji. Your pal, RNB

So glad that you enjoyed your first foray into Meat Loaf - but be warned, it won't be the last! Criminally underrated by the music industry "experts", despite his earth-shatteringly beautiful, powerful, otherworldly voice, easy charisma and colossal state presence.
The entire "Bat Out of Hell" album is a masterpiece. All the songs were written by the eccentric creative genius Jim Steinman. His poetic lyrics, soaring melodies and dramatic chords combined with Meat Loaf's vocal chops and unhinged performances are simply magic. If you're going to react to more Meat, I'd definitely recommend the title track from that album. :)

One of those albums that grab you from the beginning and twists and wrings you out emotionally. A roller coaster ride that leaves you wanting more at the end but weak in the knees.

I Would Do Anything For Love is an epic song from his 90s comeback album. It was a great video too.

No doubt about it, Meatloaf rocks! And watching the sheer joy on your face absolutely made my day! Thanks again, Mo!

I think the story is that the baseball announcer (a real life announcer named Phil Rizzuto) recorded his baseball lines for Meatloaf, but didn't know it was really a sexual innuendo. When he heard the song he was angry lol.

Great reaction as always. Your face at the end of the song was awesome haha
