This video shows how to make Pecan Crownies, which are like mini pean pies with sort of a brownie texture. In this video they are made with premade mini pie shells, but you could absolutely make your own crust from scratch. These are great treats for the fall and are a welcome addition to any Thanksgiving or Christmas celebration.

RECIPE:
Ingredients
- ¾ cup Karo syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1.5 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups of pecans (I like using halves but you could use pieces if you choose)
- 4 tbsp all purpose flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 12 mini pie shells
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix together the syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract
2. Once combined, add in your flour and baking powder. Stir until smooth.
3. Prepare pie shells on a lined baking sheet and add equal amounts of pecans to each shell. (if you don’t want to leave them in the foil tins they came in, now might be a good time to remove them from the tins as it becomes more difficult once baked if there has been any overflow)
4. Slowly pour some of the liquid mixture into each shell. Allow liquid to settle before adding more. Do not fill to brim! Ideally you should aim for being less than 75% full of liquid mix.
5. Bake at 350 F for about 28-30 min (long enough for the center to no longer be liquid but you don’t want your pecans on top to burn!)
6. Remove and allow to cool, then enjoy! 😊
