Derrick travels to Long Beach, California to help the Wackerman-Nulty family and their new puppy, Colby. Chad and Kate have recently merged their two families and Colby is the glue that sticks them all together. Colby is a fast growing puppy with a rare front limb deformity called ectrodactyly, which means that he has all the bones in his paw but they are in the wrong places. Colby is showing signs of extreme fatigue from his deformity and can barely get out of the house to go for a walk. In this episode, Derrick will try to make Colby a custom prosthetic to help alleviate the family’s concerns.
