Saucony Endorphin Edge first run and first impressions review.

It's finally here, the super-hyped and very exciting Endorphin Edge from Saucony! This is the brand's first attempt to make a deeply cushioned, carbon plated trail running shoe. I've always been a massive fan of the Endorphin road shoe line up but I was left a little bit disappointed when I tested and reviewed the Endorphin Trail. With a £200 price point I was expecting very good things from this shoe, so we laced them up and took them out on a very challenging 12 mile run to give them a thorough testing.

Really hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching, we'll see you in the next video and as always - stay safe and keep on running!

I bought the Saucony Xodus Ultras about a month ago and I’ve been running the trails round Jersey in preparation for the Round the Rock Trail Marathon, and I’m really impressed with them. My opinion they are the best trail shoe to date. 🏃🏻‍♂️☀️

That colour is fly!
Good on saucony for breaking the mould of 'men colours'.

Also, fun fact, way back when some eejit decided that little boys and girls needed dedicated colours, pink was the 'boy colour' and light blue the 'girl colour' - because of how harsh and aggressive pink can be.

Reviews are all over the place with this shoe. Some say unstable and not good on tech trails. But really like seeing and hearing this review and Seth Demoors review saying they feel stable! Going to have to grab these August 2nd in the states!

Managed to bag a pair of Xodus Ultra for approximately 67 GBP / 80 USD. Your review of this shoe was what brought that shoe to my notice. Hoping it works well - especially on the wet rocks cause it's still the monsoon season here.

According to other reviewers who already did it, a comparison between this one and the Hoka Tecton X is mandatory !
I definitely can't wait.
Sure your beautiful images of your trails made me eagerly want to get one pair ...

Expensive in Canada as well. Worth the money, if money is no object. A slightly less expensive shoe with an upgraded insole might feel the same?
This is a well fitting shoe. I bought .5 size larger, and I didn't really need to. Still, definitely comfortable!

Saucony are crushing it this year Loyd, probably the best year they have had in a long time. I won’t be spending £200 on the new edge because I have the Xodus Ultras, but they do look very good.

Great video Loyd, as always. It's a great looking shoe. It was nice to bump into you a Tehidy Woods. Weather was threatening that early!!

I’m liking this one for racing and faster workouts. As for the price I thinks it’s worth it for race day and rotate it in on some runs it should last a while

I really want to try this shoe but it’s release is too late in the trail season for me - so maybe next year. The power run PB really helps reduce leg fatigue on the road - trails are a different beast (need to be strong anyway) but maybe it helps a bit?

Great first run video Loyd! Looks like a great shoe! Nice to see some bright colours in the mens colourway! I'm absolutely loving saucony at the moment! Shame about the price it's definitely steep! But hopefully I'll get to try them in a future sale! You really do run in a very beautiful place! I love getting to the peak district for a run! Cornwall is a little bit too far but if I'm ever that way I'll definitely be running in some of your locations

Good feedback on the shoe. Curious on your thoughts between this and the Xodus Ultra for a race like Pikes Peak Marathon. Right now I'm planning the Peregrine 11 but they are a bit stiff for those really long runs.

I've never run in a Saucony. This is one of the most interesting shoes on the market for me. Currently transitioning from trail ultras to a road half marathon so I really don't need a new trail shoe unfortunately. Maybe for winter running and racing in the spring!

Look forward to your long term thoughts on this shoe. More looking forward to the videos that will be made when you're out in Chamonix though. 👍

Thanks Loyd they do indeed look promising. How does the heal counter compares in those against the Xodux Ultra and the Peregrine 11-12?

Two great first reviews of the Xodus Ultra and Endorphin Edge. After the Xodus review I thought that was the shoe for me but now I am really torn between the Xodus and the Edge.

I run a mix of terrain here on the IOW, so if cost wasn’t an issue what would you recommend.

Personally more likely to pick up the exodus as the price is too steep. Or I’ll do what I do with all my other shoes and ideally wait until I can find them on offer. That said I agree with you that Saucony is knocking it out of the park this year!

Would like to try it but just forked out A$320 on the Tecton X which is fantastic I was skeptical about carbon plated trail shoes I’m now a fan only thing I’d be worried about in this is the toe box had to go wide in the Peregrine 12 !! Plus the litebase megagrip I find to be grippier in wet weather. But thanks for the awesome review 👍

I’m definitely interested. I’m in the peregrines and lone peaks now. I want to check out the endorphin edge and exodus ultra. $200 is a lot of money though.
