rip I don't even think this meme is still relevant lol. I figured it would be a simple easy animatic I could put out a few days ago but it ended up taking like 10x longer than expected. I realized while making it that the speed ramps and camera movements made things way harder than I thought they'd be. It also didn't help that I was really sick during the beginning of the videos production.

I probably should’ve made a clarification/context comment when I first made this considering how many comments and misunderstandings I got especially since this became my most popular video, but better late than never for the new viewers I guess...

1. 3D Hate: So a lot of people thought that I was hating on 3D animation or thought that I believed it to be inferior to 2D animation. I want to be clear that this is not the case at all and that I love and respect ALL animation including 3D animation. Although I guess I do personally prefer 2D animation, this was just my take on a trending meme format and was not intended to be taken seriously. The whole idea was to center the meme around the art form of animation since it’s my favorite medium. If anything, I’d say this was my way of showing some appreciation towards cel animation, as it’s a dead traditional 2D animation technique that I personally really like the aesthetic of.

2. What’s cel animation?: As some people pointed out I misspelled “cel animation” because I’m dumb and don’t check spelling lol. Basically, Cel animation is an old and expensive 2D animation technique that involved drawing the frames on cel sheets. I think fondly of the cel animation era since I think the meticulous detail and stretchiness of each frame gave the animation so much personality and life for many cel animated shows. (Think the early years of Simpsons, SpongeBob, and Disney as examples)

3. Stop motion: By far the most commented question was “where is stop motion?” Basically, unlike the cg opening that was already done for me, making a stop motion segment didn’t seem like something I could pull off very easily. If I had the ability to make half decent looking clay models for stop motion, then it would be here too :)

5. Not an animation: For those who were calling this “slide show animation” I would 100% AGREE lmao😂. I titled the video “ANIMATED” because I’m pretty sure it ranks higher in search results than “animatic, ” and the occasional instances of actual animation sprinkled into other videos make it harder for me to decide where the video technically falls. Even though I adore the art-form of animation, I would definitely consider myself to be an artist before I would consider myself to be an animator. (At least as of now)

6. Final thoughts: I don’t really like this video and cringe whenever I think about it since I totally see how people could’ve interpreted it as me “dunking” on 3D which again, was not what this was at all. I actually still want to learn blender! I’ve managed to make the blender donut a long time ago but I’ve forgotten pretty much everything about the software since then.

Sorry about that, and thank you all so much!! The sudden massive growth for the channel was pretty overwhelming and I didn’t really know how to address an audience since I for so long had been making stuff for myself. Whether or not I’m shy, or just think that nobody wants to hear me attempt to speak to the camera, making irl vlog type videos is very hard for me to do. Hopefully I can change that so I can properly express my gratitude towards the love and support I have received from you all.🧡☺️✨

The animation is so accurate. You even managed to capture how Metroman punches his hand. The entire movement is in there, just like in the original meme. Very minor detail, but I feel it's so important and so close to the original, it's amazing!
