Changes to the Robobee — including an additional pair of wings and improvements to the actuators and transmission ratio — made the vehicle more efficient and allowed the addition of solar cells and an electronics panel. Why arent the solar cells embedded to the wings and electronics shaped to stablize direct aiflow?

It does not have a power tether but it does have a safety tether. If your also interested in ion propulsion, you can see the first ion propelled aircraft that also flies without a power tether on my channel to the left.

Больше похоже на прототип. Про солнечные панели на крыльях тут уже писали, но, думаю из-за веса это сделать не получится. А вот электронику уменьшить реально до одного чипа, включая катушки индуктивности

'...and much more' - like recording wayward presidents and sneaky politicians/oligarchs. Incredible technology; I wonder what stuff is out there that's more advanced, but classified?!
