Is the Jaguar I-PACE a used car BARGAIN?

A new Jaguar I-PACE starts at around £67,000 and for the top spec it’s over £70k. So what about a used one? After all it’s fundamentally still the same car, with the same battery so same range and charging speed. Is there a bargain to be had?

Got mine for a bargain price. Low miles, top spec. It had sat at the dealer for months. Couldn't be happier.

I bought my MY21 at the end of June 2023. It's an HSE with panoramic roof and HUD, in Eiger Grey. 20" wheels and had done 26, 000 miles. I love it and have done several long drives but all within range of my home charger. One day I will try DC charging.

I did ask for a battery status report and they said they would do it but they didn't in the end! The Jaguar dealership that I bought it from is about 50 miles away so I couldn't be bothered chasing it up.

When I bought it, Jaguar were pushing the i-Pace offer, so I got 2 years warranty and a free Pod point charger. Already the driver's door lock failed but it was replaced under warranty in just 2 days at my local dealership, less than 2 miles from home. In fact my local dealership have been very helpful considering I bought the car elsewhere.

I fully agree with what you said and I’m in the process of buying a January 2019 HSE First Edition (meaning loaded with everything available) for a discount of 64% of the price when new or said differently 36% of the price when it was new. I saw another one ‘just’ HSE which came with a discount of 66.8% of 33, 2% of the price when new despite being from August 2019 and with only 22’500 km (not miles) AND a full 1 year guaranty from a JLR dealership. UPDATE : the one with a even bigger discount disappeared, presumably sold, and I got an even better deal on my side : a further 1’000 reduction + 4 new wheels and winters tyres on top + 12 month guarantee. Now I signed the contract and paid.

You can now get them for £19000 with 40K miles. Amazing. Will be my next car when I upgrade from my fabulous Zoe GT50

Yes it is. Had mine 3yrs bought it 2yrs old. Got the itch to change but nothing comes close in the used market arround 2yr old.
Like many new cars which are not on UK roads yet but will wait for them to be a few years old. Polestar 3, Grecale, New Macan, Lotus Eletre or the saloon to come are my main considerations.
It's a tough deal being stuck with such an amazing car which is undervalued by so many.

I thought long and hard about buying an electric car and eventually I decided that any sort of EV that I would want to buy was way outside my price range. Then, about a month ago (later than your video, obviously) I saw an article about the 'collapsing' prices of EVs.
So I had a look round for a used I-Pace. I found one locally, an HSE Black, Firenze Red, 14, 000 odd miles, first registered late November 2022, so a 72 reg. The only extras on it were metallic paint, performance seats and light headlining. List price on purchase would have been £79, 350!
Asking price was - £41, 000 - that's one hell of a drop in just under a year - so I bought it.
Loving it!

I love my Ipace it's fantastic, looks are second to none, it's practical n goes like stink. It's so comfortable, feels planted on the road and pretty cheap to run with a home charger a solar PV system with battery storage and octopus agile. Oh and it's made with 95% aluminium. what's not to like. I'm getting 260 miles on a full charge on the 18" wheels in winter (December 23).

Try screwing the bonnet bump stops down to help make the seal. This worked on mine, my froot is nice and dry now.

I have also have the leaking windscreen and my car is at Jaguar Landrover today to have it diagnosed. the manager of the branch is looking to give some good will as it is just out of manufacturers warranty. lets see what they come up with as i think this should be done FOC as it is clearly a manufacturers fault.

I have checked out bmw i4 and the ix1 and ix3. Also the Volvos no car comes near to the interior and looks of the jag. Still not made my mind up
my next ev at the moments it’s between the ix3 and the jag used. Thanks for the advice 👍👍

I agree that the 8 year battery warranty is good for peace of mind, and I would certainly recommend seeking out a car with a Jaguar warranty or Jaguar extended warranty. These cars can’t be fixed outside the Jaguar network if anything goes wrong and repairs can be quite pricey. A third party warranty might be difficult to successfully claim against.

Tesla 3s and Polestars are also great bargains but all in all the ipace is the best of the lot. It's an amazing car with a slightly low battery range.

Yeah it's an absolute bargain. For reference an ex demo cupra born with 20k miles on the clock is over £30k.

Battery traction fault detected issue just one month in. Leak inside the boot, electrical issues all the time.

Don’t recommend

If it's anything like other JLR cars, it's a hot potato once the warranty runs out 🤣

Certainly tempting looking at second hand market price now, driving a model 3 looking for second car and the iPace looks a great option. Ps like the LED lamp is this Philips hue? 😊

Is it a car i can buy used and then keep for 5-10 years without worrying?

Nice one. Definitely a used car bargain and agree with the looks and driveability being top notch. Sad to hear your frunk leak is not fixed yet. When would it be done by as i see Jag dealers as frustratingly slow. Did the diagnosis and parts match mine?
