The animals look INFINITELY better here whilst keeping the quirky style they were originally going for. Putting them in an equally animated world really does wonders as opposed to putting them in something trying to look hyper real

No joke, no lie. 100% honesty here. But this is exactly what the teaser/trailer for the Minecraft movie should've been. Entirely animated in the Minecraft art style, with a bit of polishing and logical additions to the animations (as done here).
And then just have the same actors do the voice acting of their animated Minecraft avatar characters, instead of doing the whole live action thing.
