It seems that behavioral economics has been picked up by corporations and business full heartedly but whenever there is talk of governments and institutions putting into practice in behavioral nudges into practice on climate change there is an outcry of government overreach. This puts institutions in a position of unfair advantage. Big tech has consistently nudged us in the wrong direction spuring us to spend more time on our devices and sustaining a model that pushes us towards overconsumption by means of ads. If big tech was serious about climate action they would start by reflecting on their business model.
