Incredible player, good coach, one of the best GMs in the history of the league, kind and intelligent person ... and the logo of the league itself. The man is truly a legend.

The greatest shooter of his time I see. The points he could have gotten if three-points counted.

RIP Legend. He is the original concept of a guy to rely on when it comes to crunch time. Yeah there was been many players who does it like MJ among others but Mr. West is the OG one.

My grandpas favorite player. If they recorded steals throughout his career he may have had more than Stockton. If you watch the YouTube video of the 1972 all-star game, he records 6 steals and almost gets a few more with all-star game minutes. If you listen, you will hear one of the announcers with Bill Russell say that West was averaging just under 10 steals a game for the Lakers that season. An unofficial stat, but I believe it after watching that game. I can only imagine the ball hawk he was when he was younger than that.

For those who don't understand Mr. West's greatness, he averaged 29.3PPG in the playoffs from 1961 to 1973 over 152 playoff games and during that stretch, he went to the Finals nine times! He competed against the most dominant dynasty in NBA history, Bill Russell's Celtics.

62 Finals: Celtics in 7, Lakers lose Game 7 by three points
63 Finals: Celtics in 6, Lakers lose Game 1, Game 4 and Game 6 by three points each
66 Finals: Celtics in 7, Lakers lose Game 4 by five points, lose Game 7 by two points
68 Finals: Celtics in 6, Lakers lose Game 1 by six points, lose Game 5 by three points
69 Finals: Celtics in 7, Lakers lose Game 3 by six points, lose Game 4 by one pt, lose Game 7 by 2 pts
70 Finals: Knicks in 7, Lakers lose Game 3 by three points, lose Game 4 by seven points
