the " you know i'm something of a scientist myself" is pretty accurate, since behind his role of first director and robotic engineer of Fazbear entertainment and Afton robotics, he is also kind of like a mad scientist, who make experiments on empty animatronics and dead children, to see the effects of the Remnant, a product which make the robots haunted, since their souls can possess them thanks to the Remnant. i wonder what do you think. otherwise Dafoe would indeed being an excellent Afton, he sounds more sinister than Heywood

This is the casting decision I never knew I needed, Willem Dafoe absolutely stole the show in No Way Home and would seriously do William Afton justice (their names even sound similar!).

Afton then negotiates with the man and tries the best effort to guilt trip, but the Hero still nobely values. Afton was dismayed, but it gave enough of a distraction to bear hug the Hero in an immanent sequence where he'll level him, but Afton will somehow intricately live again... In his body].

_"GODSPEED; LITTLE MAN!!"_

[All hope seemed lost until the Hero's senses however a very vulnerable spot Afton was arrogantly careless to cover up, the book he was lend to by Vanessa reading it triggered something... Knowing this he quick timed that spot and he was freed from his grasps... Afton stood there stunned for a long minute...]

_"...Oh..."_

(And the whole process violently backfires, ultimately in agony... He spews some last words...)

_"... D-Don't tell, Mi... (Dies)"_

Honestly apart from what I said, I thought of William Dafoe from NO Way Home lately and the Security Breach craze together that it did also gave me the idea of Dafoe being a perfect Purple Guy (WILLIAM Afton, funnily enough in the name), I mean the guy can act as a complete villainous expressive loon very well! The role possibly wouldn't be a bad choice for him, he kinda well... *Fits!* XD
