I had to have seen this movie a thousand times growing up and I still watch it to this day. It still amazes me that such a goofy kids movie from the 80s could be hiding such a banger of a song.

This song reminds me how wonderful was to be a kid in the 90s. No social networks, no internet, but a lot of fun, good movies on tv, and play and talk with friends in the street without any fear.

I still love this song after all these years. I grew up with Ernest. Jim Varney was such a treasure to us all.

I met Gary Chapman about 10 years ago. I worked at Moe's Southwest Grill, and he stopped in for lunch. We talked about this song, and he said he recently had considered doing a remake of the song. He seems to be a really nice guy.

I also went to school with the son of the man and woman who wrote this song. Alice Keister wrote the lyrics, and Shane Keister wrote the music. Sam is their son whom I first met in 5th grade. I can't believe so much time has past since all of this.

Damn I loved this film when I was younger. Guess I was about 10 when it was released, still remember watching it every single time I could catch it on tv.
