More about ash ketchum, known as satoshi in Japan, is a fictional character in the pokemon franchise owned by Nintendo. He is the protagonist of the pokemon anime and certain manga series as well as on various merchandise related to the franchise. And his English motto is derived from the Japanese motto (as the letters 'Gotta catch ém all!' are included in 'Pokémon getto da ze!'). The dream of ash pokemon is to become a pokemon Master. He is loosely based on pokemon red, the player character from the Generation I games pokemon red green, blue and yellow as well as the Generation III games pokemon firered and leafgreen versions. The character's first official appearance in a game was in Pokémon Puzzle League. As the protagonist of the pokemon anime, ash has appeared in all episodes of the anime, all the films and several of the television specials. This includes the modern pokemon sword pokemon shield pokemon sword and shield and pokemon go potentially.

And yugi muto in the English dub, is a fictional character who was created by Kazuki Takahashi and is the main character of the manga series Yu-Gi-Oh!. Little yugi is introduced as a teenager who is solving an ancient Egyptian puzzle known as the Millennium Puzzle, hoping it will grant him his wish of forming bonds. And yugi revives an ancient spirit called Atem (yami yugi in the English dub and Dark Yugi in the English translation of the manga). During the series, yugi forms friendships with the supporting cast, interacts with Atem and learns about his secrets. Besides the manga, yugi has also appeared in the anime adaptations, films and video games based on the franchise. yugi was created as a weak, young man who is interested in games and becomes a hero when playing them. According to Takahashi, through this trait, Yugi emphasizes the series' themes; friendship and the enjoyment of games. Atem was created as a hero who would appeal to young children through his strong characterization. Critical reception to Yugi has been mixed; some writers found Yami Yugi to be too dark for the series but others praised the development of both Yugi and his lookalike alter-ego. His role in movies, mostly The Dark Side of Dimensions, was also praised for featuring a more mature version of the character.

Ok I just want to point out the "duel personality" bar. That shit is actually brilliant. Obviously yeah it's a duel/dual wordplay which isn't anything to special, but the fact that Yugi's "dual" personality almost only comes out to duel really sells the bar. It's literally his duel personality.

It's funnier when you recall Yu-Gi-Oh did not start as a series to sell a card game, the author just wanted the characters to play a card game like MTG because he was a fan but did not want to pay the rights, and made a simpler and faster game that got popular enough to become real.

What's even funnier is that it's a pretty different game, the Pokemon card game is much more like MTG, with energies basically being lands, made me wish Yugi would have pointed out that despite it's origins, the game changed enough there are videos longer than one hour about explaining MTG characters how to play Yu-Gi-Oh or even explain things like the Extra Deck while the Pokemon TCG is MUCH easier to get into for Magic fans.

As much as I love both battlers, and have been since I was a kid, I'm afraid Yugi wiped the floor with Ash on this one. Both had good bars, but he was about as merciless as his antagonists. Also, VGRB, that was a fantastic Dan Green impersonation, dude! I almost thought it was LittleKuriboh for a second, it was that good!
