he was the one that got me into metal in the first place, but he wasn't an elitist and was always introducing me to sounds that others would look down on. I remember this one time where he played this song from A-ha, I was incredulous at first, but he kept telling me to wait for it, and it hard this part that went hard. Really opened my eyes that not everything has to be ear shattering noise and blood sacrifices.
