Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Review - The Final Verdict

For every one thing Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One does right, it misses the mark in another department by a solid margin. Witnessing the backstory of the detective is an enchanting prospect, but it is heavily marred down by technical inefficiencies and poor pacing.

The combat is markedly better than prior entries, but it also gets stale pretty quickly. The isle of Cordona houses a ton of mysteries to crack, although you might just get bored doing the same things over and over again long before there aren't any markers to chase on the map.

I never thought I'd hear the words "Sherlock", "Combat System" and "Bandit Lair" in a review.

8 dollars for both this and Sinking City on Xbox sounds like a steal to me!

Why no mention that players who want to do only the detective stuff in the game have the option to turn off combat in the game's options?

What an amazing game this was, I could tell the amount of time and love put into it by the devolpers and I really wish they would of made the next one open world like this one was but people complain too much and ruin everything. It took me about 4 days to beat the game and all the side quests. This game is now on my list of favorite games of all time and I will for sure play through it again.

I have barely finished the game, tackled almost none of side activities, let me review It.

Got it for like 85% off of the PlayStation store in April. I enjoyed the game, but I wouldn’t pay $60-70 for it. Combat wasn’t horrible once I got used to it. Overall I would give it an 8.5/10

How about an actual novel adaptation? It's an open formula idly laying around right now, that no one is using.

I just can't get over how 'modern' these character look for a Sherlock Holmes game. Does it take place in the 1890s or the 2020s?

I gotta be honest, and I say this as someone who LOVES The Sinking City... The reviews have disappointed me for this. It looks like a miss step and I don't know how they did it when it looked so promising. I hope I'm wrong, when I cop it in a sale

I got this in the sale and am enjoying it so far. i loved the BBC drama so that's why I got it. Is the DLC Season pass worth getting? I see that it's 40% off but am not sure if it's worth buying. I love the character design and voice acting in this game, I think they did a great job. The only thing I did not like was the crappy combat system

I want an 1) open world 2) non-linear 3) detective game with 4) No combat or action. (Well maybe some stealth I guess would be fine.) Can anyone help me?

Who is the publisher of this title I wonder 🤔 I remember they had issues with their previous Sherlock games

Sherlock games should be made by people who made LA Noire.
