Saas Fee Ski Resort Review | The Magic Pass

Saas Fee ski resort is one of the biggest names on The Magic Pass. In this resort review, I give you my full opinions about Saas Fee ski resort. This resort has it all - slopes for all levels of skiers, a variety of skiing accommodations, and plenty of shopping and dining options. Plus, with the Magic Pass, it can be very affordable. Close to nearby Saas Almagell, you can combine your trip to Saas Fee with its partner ski resort. One highlight of Saas Fee is the Glacier where it is possible to snowboard in winter and summer.

The Magic Pass is an exceptional value lift pass that provides access to 40 ski resorts in the winter and 21 resorts in the summer. With access to ski lifts, hikes, mountain bike trails and thermal spas from as little as 399CHF this trip is hoping to highlight some of the best features of The Magic Pass.

Ah… good call on the TBars. I had never thought about the wind…
I can’t even remember the last time I rode one… which is good as I try to avoid them at all costs! 🤣

I have the Magic Pass for this season, so very pleased i stumbled on your series, great job. Having been to Sass Fee quite a bit, I would echo what others have noted re the benefits of cable cars in the cold. I'd also add that cable cars are better for taking those with tired legs down from the cruisy top runs at the end of the day (especially kids). For families it's a hard resort to beat (particularly later in the season when it's warmer/sunnier but still with great snow) - all runs end in the same place, no cars, lots of non-ski activities, great restaurants etc. etc. Can see how the mountain could get a little frustrating on a board though - especially if the snow parks are closed!

I love Saas-Fee but there's a big BUT coming...the major lift investment was made 20 years ago and the system is looking a bit antiquated now. Desperately needs a linking chairlift from the nursery slopes up to the Gletschergrotte area which, I think, would better integrate 'left' and 'right' of the mountain. Plattjen is a much under-rated area (but don't tell anyone!). The place still draws me back though - next trip in April!

I enjoy Simon's videos and commentary. I went to Saas-Fee twice in the 23/24 season. I love the village's charm, astonishing beauty, and found the villagers friendly. The long, wide cruisey pistes suit me. The Alpin Express gets very busy from about 9am with a queue time of about 25 minutes. Plattjen is less of a queue and a quicker gondola than Alpin. The cable car is obviously quite quick but the queue can be long. I find it a pain to have to walk so far to the funicular. For me, the lift system lets Saas Fee down. The Magic Pass is outstanding value and got 4 weeks use out of it over the season. When the snow was so-so in Grimentz-Zinal, it wasn't far to drive to other places like Lauchernalp and Saas-Fee where the snow was better due to the higher altitudes.

Saas Fee is so cold in midwinter - most of the area is in the shade
