Federal government launches $647-million strategy to protect wild salmon populations – June 8, 2021

At a virtual press conference, Bernadette Jordan, the federal minister of fisheries, oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, announces the federal government is launching a $647-million initiative to
protect and restore Pacific wild salmon populations. This amount was previously announced in the 2021 federal budget. She is joined by Jonathan Wilkinson, the minister of environment and climate change, and Terry Beech, the parliamentary secretary to the minister of fisheries, oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.
