Lots of young 17 and 18 year old kids on that wall. May God bless every man and woman on that wall. 🇺🇸

The traveling walls that go around the entire nation are equally as important and memorable. Whomever came up with those ideas and made them happen have done an amazing thing by making visits to the wall accessible to millions of people who have not had the opportunity to go to the original in Washington DC.

Even after 58 years of losing my dad in the Vietnam War. I still can't visit the wall. Its still too hard.

As i grew up, realising that most names on that wall were just teenagers like me is heartbreaking.

I’ve been in the Army for 21 years, and am still going. My father was in the Army for 23 years. When I visit the Vietnam Memorial, there’s always a strong calm and quiet to it. Almost like you can hear the people who are etched to that wall. A different time.

I really believe Maya Lin an Asian woman creating this incredible memorial is a great miracle and very appropriate and so deep with meaning to Vietnam vets like me.

I went to DC recently and visited this memorial. My Dad told me that my grandpa had gone to it 10 years ago and found the names of people he knew or met when drafted. My grandfather never saw combat but saw the aftermath of it as a medic. To all those who lost friends and family I am so sorry and may their sacrifice never be in vain.

I was there in the early 90's, not a combat veteran but a veteran of the U.S. Army and it took my breath away. Hallowed Ground.

Touch a name, even if it is not one you know of. Look through the Wall. You know you see yourself reflected on its shiny blackness, but by doing so, you become part of the Wall, and therefore, part of the conscience that the Wall grows with, beyond the total number of its names.
