I like this crazy mad engineers way, not sure how safe is this before anything explodes or catches fire, but it does give good ideas 🎉

if this method is true so why you don't complete the video until all boards shown blue lights

If two batteries charge before the third, the third charger Will get all voltage, só it Will burn, , , consider that current stops While batery is full.

Kids, don't try that, it will only damage your batteries and charging module. Be safe when play with li-ion batteries and get a proper BMS and charger

This looks like a really bad idea. FIrst of all, BMS = Battery Management System, the first modules in the video are BMS but the one that was chosen is a CHARGER. Second, it uses the TP4056 chip which was not designed to operate this way, and could cause all kinds of problems, including causing the batteries to get on fire or explode.

One of the functions of bms is to protect from overdischarge! So discharge the whole battery below 3v and you will damage it

Use a proper 3S circuit board to manage the battery charging and discharging.
There's many flaws in this design, as these boards are designed in mind to handle only one battery at a time.

What you can do safely?
Wire them in PARALEL not series with a source of 5V - 3Amps, and charge batteries in paralel without any connection to each other board.

the problem I see here is that the batteries are not connected together so there is not a battery pack as such, joining them together to make a pack of ~12v battery pack would short the diodes out and make them redundant...

The charger should be 15 volts so that the batteries reach 4.2v

The correct when using the TP4056, is to connect in parallel, feeding with 5V and 3A or more, so you can load a pack 3s quietly without problems, because each cell will be charged individually. The B3 lipo chargers, use TP4056 in parallel.

if i intend to charge all 3 at the same time using 1 usb port (5v), can i solder them in parallel rather than in series for the 12v charging?

Hi, I loved your project, excellent, congratulations. I would like to use this idea of yours. Could you please answer some questions for me? I'm going to replace the 6v lead battery of a children's electric motorcycle with a 18650 lithium battery. I'm going to make a 2S pack. Can this project of yours be done with just two cells? Will I have to replace any components? Thank you very much for your attention. I wish you to continue with your projects. A hug

Another vid introducing bad ideas to people, knowing even less, than the originator:

Sure: connecting the single boards this way charges 3 cells at the same time, but you win pretty much nothing, apart from using a 12V source instead of one 5V source with more ampere:

*) you still cannot use the charged cells as a 12V/11.1V 3s-power source.
*) What about the charging current? IMHO it is limited to the current of the slowest cell. And what happens, if one cell isn't present at all?!?!?
*) no real balancing function
*) 12V will not load the cells to their limit of typical 4.2V, but rather 80% - IF cells are being drawn equally.
*) the role of the diodes is not explained, nor the type/their voltage drop They look like some 1A+ type. (didn't look them up)
*) soldering the cells instead of changeable slots -> if the cells are used quite differently, at a current >> the one the 4056 can provide --> smoke?

The 4056 allows for different charging speeds (via changing some resistor on the board) - it'd be much more interesting, to have add a switchable current/capacity charger.

This is cool.
I fooled around with this idea but didn't think of diodes to isolate the boards.
This should be good as a low current battery supply (500mA) because the boards can only switch about 1 amp through their output circuits and the diodes are 1 amp. Each board contains two circuits. One shuts the input voltage to the cell off at 4.2 volts. The other circuit shuts off the output voltage when the cell drops below 2.9 volts.

Батареи не соединены вместе. Если их соединить как в батарее электроскутера, произойдёт короткое замыкание.

It's more of a waste of cable to use the charger. 3 cables must be there to charge 3 batteries

aliffarhan

I'm no engineer, but if you connected all the modules' 5v charge inputs in parallel, you should be able to connect one usb cable to charge them all at the same time, no? That way you don't have to mess with inputting 12v across the three or charging one at a time.

hi can we use 1s 3a circuit instead of this one to get high amp
