We're gonna concentrate on the verse the groove. Simon Phillips is responsible for many iconic grooves. But this one has to be in the Simon top 10 at least if you ask me.

So let's check out how we can learn to play this and get lots more out of this.

Thank you! That helps. I wonder, if Simon counts this one in quarter notes as he often mentions, that he is doing that on odd meters. To me, it feels almost impossible to count over the barline on this tune. (edit: ok, ... possible. as you show in part II)
