What could be really fun with an underground home like this would be to use stuff like the castle kit! Put debug ruins on top, maybe some columns that we can pretend survived from all the way back... then the basement itself can be part of the original structure, kind of old and dark and dingy
I think it'd be a cool start for a rags to riches storyline, living in this abandoned basement until you have money to build your own thing!

I once made an entire crazy huge maze of a house underground that was a ‘Tardis’ from Doctor Who. The only thing on the upper level was an entrance, it was a blue 2x2 rectangle with double doors, that was my ‘police box’ and the underground house was just absolutely insane, it had everything and anything in it. I had a lot of fun with that one.

I've done builds like this in the past. There's a big freedom in knowing that you never have to worry about what the exterior/roofs look like. I've also loved basements and attics since I was a kid.

I always like the idea of doing underground builds like this in hot-climate worlds. Like sometimes you build down into the earth for temperature control and stuff and not to try to hide. That might be fun for a modern basement-only build!

I would love a apolypse but sustainable themed basement kinda like the lets play but people who have to survive underground with a few things on top like solar panels water collectors etc

In my Simdew Valley save, I built a whole sewer system apartment for Krobus. It was a lot more sewer-y than this, but same idea, disguised entrance into a living space. His included a pool (not that you'd want to swin in it, though, it's mean to be sewer water)

I've made underground houses before, but usually the top floor is a single-tile room with a ladder. The sunken patio was a genius idea.

Many, many years ago now (like, barely after dine out and get together kind of long ago), i made a restaurant that was "underwater", as if it was the mermaids' secret spot. It utilized pools for the water and the ground floor was made to look like a little tropical island of respite, or at least as much as we could those days.

I've been meaning to try a new "underwater" build for a while now. Especially since we have proper tropical pieces.

I love the chaotic "NEED EVERYTHING" landscaping. 😂 It's 100% how I do my landscaping; doing pretty+simple or elegantly sculpted styles is a struggle for me.
