Honey bee ensnared while foraging on Milkweed

Ever since I was a kid whenever I’ve come across bees, moths etc trapped or exhausted I’ve always tried to give them a second chance ( I know it sounds silly ) I have used honey or jam to feed exhausted bumble bees 🐝 before setting them free outside as they are such industries creatures, I guess nature has it’s own reasons for some of its decisions

Does this booby trap fulfil any function for the Milkweed - is it a carnivorous plant? If not, I wonder why this happens, surely it is of no benefit for anyone if a bee dies?

A couple days ago I was bushhog the field and accidentally ran over a milkweed. I usually try to leave them. But now I am glad I did. Poor little bee.
