I learned that for number three, using the complex conjugate will make the problem easier to simplify. Once simplified, you go back and use the number that causes a discontinuity

Another way to solve #2: ln(x-2) = 0, raise it to the e, e^ln(x-2)= e^0. That means (x-2) = 1 or x=3.
