it sounds like a fun world of its own, but it critiques our very real world of digital enslavement. it's almost as if we're just bystanders watching ourselves spend our lives online. social media is the perfect breeding ground for insecurities, but we don't wanna miss a single moment on it. we don't care about what's real. we fail to see what's important. what matters is we have clear skin and shiny hair to post online...

btw the square-ish ratio/size of the MV reminds me of old TVs/computers and really made me think that *I* (at least) need to step away from screens every once in a while, because the digital world used to be something that had a dedicated space (computer room, media room). but now it's in the palms of our hands.

The dystopian concept of creating a whole new person to represent your image in social media, filtering them to oblivion so others can be jealous of something that you yourself don't even have. Someone that is so different from who you truly are that you see them as a whole other person, altering them to perfection. That should be alien, yet social media is like a void and once it svcks you in, you can't get out. It's all ultimately an anxiety inducing performance that will make you doubt what is reality. Such a cool concept to put into a song.
