2021 XC - CIF-ss Prelims 26 (Boys, D1, Heat 1)

Newbury Park takes us on a tour of the infamous Mt. SAC course as they all run together at the front at, what for them, is a workout pace. Though they hadn't raced the course before, they didn't have any problems with it. Built a big lead on the 2 Valley Loops and then showed their conditioning level on the uphills. Took the downs easy to avoid problems. All 7 placed in the top 10. Waligorski and Thomas of second-place Redondo Union stuck with them.

The Southern Section Prelims were held at Mt. San Antonio Junior College on November 13, 2021.

It’s a HEAT! Newbury Park let their Sophomore win and the main pack hung back. Save it for the finals. If they’re all healthy for the final, I predict it is going to be EPIC!!
