Blackrock is doing what Enron always wanted to do. Turn everything into a securitized asset.

Enron news stories focus on Lay, Skilling, and Fastow, the so called "smartest guys in the room." They rarely mention Lou Pai, who was smarter than all three of these guys combined!

Instead of focusing on his work at Enron Energy Services, Lou Pai spent his time impregnating a stripper named Melanie! His wife found out about Melanie. They divorced. To satisfy his obligations in the divorce decree, Pai had to sell his Enron stock and give half the proceeds to his wife.

When Pai sold, Enron stock was still near its highs and Pai knew the Company was a total sham that would collapse. Despite this inside knowledge, the government couldn't prosecute Pai for insider trading because he had to sell Enron stock anyway because of the court order.

Cheating on his wife and impregnating a stripper was literally the most profitable life decision that Lou Pai ever made.

What's the moral of the Enron story?
