More yarn isn't mistake. Everyone who crochets or knitting need more yarn and It is a truth universally acknowledged.

As a crocheter I can tell you that they’re all true, except for the last one you can never have enough yarn😂

I’ve never met a fiber artist who thought they had enough yarn

the "thinking we need more yarn" is not a mistake.
we just want more yarn so we get it even if we don't have room for it becuase "look at the color or thats a fun texture or i could totally make something with this"

This is true actually, but for chenille yarn, you just have to be careful. I've dealt with several creations using chenille yarn, and it goes the best way expected. While for buying yarn... Relatable

But there are beginner tips :)
1. squeeze the yarn ball a bit that the two side holes are closer together. Poke your finger in there and “stir” a bit. Grab something that feels now a bit loose.
2. Use a big needle. Use a thinner yarn and tie it in the needle hole. Then slip your big yarn through the loop. Now you don’t rip your bulky yarn in pieces and it’s easier to get it in.
3. You can never have enough yarn. There are too many projects. You’ll always feel like you need more

Me thinking I won’t need more yarn, now I’m here at 11:30 pm with the head of a Spiderman plushie and Hobby lobby doesn’t open tomorrow because it’s Sunday and I can’t find the color I need at Joann’s or Micheal’s 🤡

THE LAST ONE IS EXACTLY ME because whenever I want to make something with only one yarn its not enough and when I buy multiple it’s just too much😭

Needing more yarn is never a mistake! I have over 1, 000 skeins and yet I need more. I don't have any 3 ply baby yarn left. 😂

fun tip, you dont have to sew with the chenelle yarn, ive used: matching acrylic yarn, nylon thread, friendship/embroidery thread

I relate to all three, but you really threw me under the bus with the last one 🙈

How I keep my chenille yarn in one piece:
1. Pull like an inch of the fluff off the end of the string. Then tie it so the remaining fluffy end almost like rolls in on itself. Make sure to double-knot it! This way the fluff can't shift down and off, and it just keeps things neat. (Especially helps when weaving in ends)

2. I never rework chenille! If I have to frog a project for some reason, the yarn from it will be repurposed into stuffing or the like. I've had chenille projects disintegrate, look frumpy, and/or shed like crazy, all because I restarted or reworked the yarn. Now I just save myself the effort by being diligent not to make mistakes with chenille and only frog when necessary.

3. When possible, holding the tail and working yarn together for a couple stitches, rather than weaving the ends. Works just as good in my experience, and reduces risk of chenille destruction a ton.

That's what works for me! I've made a amigurumi with chenille, and don't work with it often cuz I'm somehow allergic to it (I sneeze so much near it, I can only use it for gifts 😭), so if anyone with more experience has other tips, plz feel free to reply! 💖
