Follow us through Siu Nim Tau, the first form in the Leung Ting Wing Tsun system. Wing Chun has many different branches, and they each do Siu Nim Tau a bit differently. We made this video so our students and others could follow us through the movements of our style. Follow along and Enjoy!

Follow Along Siu Nim Tau. Get ready. Hands up. Bend your knees. Toes out. Heels out.
1st section: Double Tan Sau. Double gan sau. Double kwan sau.
2nd section: Make a fist. Punch. Tan sau, huen sau, back.
3rd section: Tan Sau, huen sau, wu sau, back. Fook sau, huen sau, wu sau, back. 3 times. Pak sau, wu sau, palm strike. Tan sau, huen sau. Back.
4th section: Gum sau, Gum Sau, Double rear palm, double forward palm, double lan sau, double fak sau, double jam sau, double tok sau, double jut sau, double biu sau, double gum sau, double tai sau, double huen sau, back.
5th section: Pak sau, wu sau, side palm.
6th section: tan sau, jam sau, gwat sau, lau sau, huen sau, low side palm.
7th section: bong sau, tan sau, high low palm
8th section: tut sau x3, punch x3.

This along with 2 or 300 chain punches is a decent morning workout.

Hyperextension in the arms when deploying the Palm Strikes made me grimace a little. If used with energy or turning of the core could cause probable joint problems if practised often.
Gan Sao a bit high to protect your midsection if that’s what it’s for but an interesting open handed form with very strong looking structures better suited to turning of the body in use.
Great for beginners without doubt.

I like your Sil lime Tao however it is slightly different from James Yim Lee’s sil Lime Tao in the green book. It also differs from Randy Williams SiL Tao. It’s not to say any are wrong. However the diversity is gracious to learn. NG Mui was a historical genius!

Pay no attention to the third leg. Especially when the hips wobble.

after the punch, one simply open the with slight extended arm, ready for wrist conditioning. AND NOT A TAN SAU, simply because it involves no bend elbow.
