Just FYI. I see a lot of comments about not seeing the option for Ashes of War at a grace point. You need the Whetstone Knife to apply an Ash of War. You can find one in a chest in the cellar at Gatefront Ruins.

I didn't realize till level 68 that the ashes weren't permanent. Could have saved myself a lot of effort by swapping them out occasionally

I was afraid of not being able to change my decisions, and didn't even know you could change the default scaling type of them. Useful little video.

Do you lose the Ash of War you slotted in if you decide to swap it with some other one or does it go back to your inventory so you can you re-apply it to another weapon?

when i sit at the fire the ashes of war option isn’t there. how do i get it?

thank you. i’m really new to this. i thought the ashes of war were a permanent one time use modification to a weapon. kind of like gems in ds3. so i was nervous to use any until i was really sure what i was doing but this appears they work more almost like spells? and can be swapped out and around freely. is this true? thanks so much.

say my ash decreased physical damage but increased holy. Would i now be doing whatever physical damage it says on top of whatever holy damage it says?

What’s the quality vs standard mean? Sounds better to have a quality, but it shows stats lowering, standard has no stat change..

So when you change your ashes of war tripe, (keen, heavy, etc) Does it change the ashes of war damage or the actual weapons damage (using normal attacks)
