I can't help wondering if some expanded universe writer is going to come up with a crazy story about how that actually was an IG-series droid's head that was somehow scavenged off of one and converted into distilling equipment.

Personally I like the story from the legends bounty hunter book. It says that there were four copies of IG-88 that would share all data between each other. One of them ended up in the computer on the death star, and planned to use it to control the galaxy before it was destroyed by luke.

You know... I would have liked it better if it was part of their "No droids" policy.

Best way to keep something out is to have their brethren's heads displayed outside and/or inside your establishment.
