A very surfy looking guitar, would have loved to hear some Surf licks.

An American Professional II Jazzmaster will be my next and quite possibly last guitar on my Dream List.
After watching "many" videos showing and explaining how the various controls work on a Jazzmaster (especially the American Pro II w the split phase feature on the tone control), something has been noticed quite often...When the Rhythm/Lead switch (upper left location) is in the UP/Rhythm position; Why do so many players change the position of the 3-way pickup switch?
In the UP/Rhythm switch position, the lower controls are out of the circuit EXCEPT for the phase switch on a Pro II.
The pickups are in Series so the volume and tone are controlled with the "wheel" controls above the pickups and the 3-way toggle switch does NOTHING...it no longer controls which pickup is being used.
Changing its position must be an unconscious habit of players.

Really...If a person actually wants to play a Jazzmaster (especially an American Professional II model); they should "learn" how "all" the controls function "before" putting one into their hands otherwise; playing one will be confusing and frustrating because they won't be able to create the sounds they desire so they'll quickly NOT like or enjoy the guitar and then want to discard it by selling it.

Jazzmaster and Jaguar controls MUST be understood before trying to play one...neither are an "every-day" common guitar so they don't respond as one...they are "unique" and mysterious (if you will) ; they however can produce incredible sounds and tones providing the person playing them fully understands them...

Hopefully this has helped whoever has read this...Enjoy your newfound adventures!

Would be so much better if you actually demonstrated what all those switches do. Or at least hire someone who can play something enjoable instead of butchering the guitar with ugly chords and bad progressions. I also noticed that peach guitars offer much more higher prices than other stores like guitarguitar, pmt, Anderton or dv247... for example this guitar is 240 quid cheaper in gak.
