How The Martian is Ridley Scott's BEST Film

Ridley Scott is back within the movie talk world recently and so with that, I thought I'd go and rewatch my favorite film of his, The Martian. It's in my opinion his best film and his most re-watchable. Truly a masterpiece of science fiction and in this film analysis video I am going to break down why it's that masterpiece. Enjoy!🎥

The Martian is a 2015 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon. Drew Goddard adapted the screenplay from the 2011 novel by Andy Weir. It also stars Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sean Bean, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, Mackenzie Davis, Donald Glover, and Benedict Wong. The film depicts an astronaut's struggle to survive on Mars after being left behind and NASA's efforts to return him to Earth.

When astronauts blast off from the planet Mars, they leave behind Mark Watney (Matt Damon), presumed dead after a fierce storm. With only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission.

I simply cannot hear the words "Matt" and "Damon" without thinking Team America. Poor Matt lol. At least he took it well. :) The Martian is a movie I will certainly revisit thanks to this vid. :)

The Book was written by Andy Wear who also made Project Hail Mary(In my opinion an even better book). Which is getting a Movie that is releasing in 2026. Considering the Directors for Project Hail Mary, its also going to be great.

I really like the arguments in this video... But I disagree. For me, Ridley Scott's best film will always be the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven.
