6th Annual 24-Hour Movie Marathon Challenge
Rules and Guidelines:
1) A film with a number in the title.
2) A film that begins with the first letter of your first name.
3) A film that begins with the first letter of your last name.
4) A film 180 minutes or more.
5) A film considered a flop.
6) A classic you have never seen.
7) Watch a silent film, animated film, or a musical.
BONUS: Trilogy (Watch video for more info)

Oi Chattaway - hello pal, I've been itching to do a 24 hour movie marathon for years, and I recently stumbled upon your page and I accepted your challenge. With Easter approaching I saw the opportunity, asked my wife nicely for permission which she granted, and set to plotting and planning my movie playlist.

I thought about the time to start the Marathon and decided 3am would be best. Here are the scheduled movies with my ratings.

SCHINDLERS LIST 10/10
INSIDE OUT (I have kids and had to include animated/family movies for daytime) 7/10
KUBO & THE TWO STRINGS 9/10
FULL METAL JACKET (Kids at Easter egg hunt) 10/10
HANGOVER 2 7/10
BIG HERO 6 9/10
PANS LABYRINTH (havent watched enough to rate, however I feel 10/10 is imminent)
LOGAN 9/10
THE THIN RED LINE 9/10
THE THING (1982) 9/10

I'd already seen Full Metal Jacket, Hangover2 & Big Hero 6 but the other films were new to me and some were films I'd been wanting to watch for years (Schindler, Thin Red).

My failures were KUBO (still have 1/2 hour to watch as the kids had to go out) and PANS LABYRINTH (subtitles failed on the DVD after 40 minutes and I have no other version).

All other movies were watched from start to finish and The Thing was a great film to end on.

I will do this again next year, possibly make it an Easter tradition, and thank you for creating this amazing challenge. I'll make sure to film my efforts next year as didn't for this challenge as I thought I would fail.

I enjoyed the day and will look forward to hearing what playlists others have created.

I recently did a marathon challenge where I watched back to back 7 movies at the movie theater in ONE day! You can find the video on my channel, IT IS HILARIOUS.

Well, I am definitely Interested with a capital I in participating. I've basically picked my movies (and figured out how to space them out over the course of a few days because I like my beauty sleep). I have a question, though. If, for instance, I were to watch the theatrical cut of "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" at 162 minutes and not the Criterion roadshow 'expanded cut' at 197 minutes, would that be close enough to fudge the 180 minute mark (especially if I haven't even seen the theatrical cut of that movie)?

A few questions for clarification : 1) if a group of us does this, whose name do we use for 2 and 3 ? 2) does it have to be a different movie per guideline ? Or can we watch movies that fit more than one guideline ? ie The Watchmen Motion Comic falls under 4 and 7, Apocalypse Now for me falls under 2, 3, and 4, The Ocean's 11 movies fall under 1 and the bonus. As soon as I get clarification on this I can make my selection : ). Hope to hear from you soon !

Ok, I am gonna take a stab at the marathon this year. Gonna be pretty boring though as I don't do talking face to camera. Won't be able to do 24 hours as I need to sleep due to my epilepsy & will try to make all the films ones that I have not seen yet - although that will be hard with the trilogy

I'm sure someone gave you this, but technically it's the 5th annual. The first is considered the Inaugural. Than 1st, 2nd, 3rd so on.

i tryed a marathon a few weeks back and I failed miserably i made it through 4 movies.
