Excellent content as always. I always find den phals a little tougher than even my nobile orchids. Great advice here :)

My den has done very well under grow lights. Blooms are white and have lasted since January. Got it on clearance at lowes for 2.00.

If you’re in Tennessee, why aren’t you able to get that colder period for den-nobiles? Putting them outside on medium cold days for a while or for days in a row, but maybe not at night?? I don’t know, I’m just brainstorming & just curious.
I’m in central Florida, so I’m not sure how I’ll get that cold period in the winter, either. This weekend I’m going to get a nobile at an orchid farm that’s open to the public only 4 times a year. It’s exciting! They have a lot of exotics. Happy Growing! Your plants are lovely! Thanks for video.🙏

You could grow nobile-type dens. They can bloom without a cold period you just have to stop watering them for about 2-3 months. Maybe an experiment to try for more video content???

Very informative video! In the video you linked above, you said that you add 1/3 teaspoon of Epsoma lime to a large pot. Can you please tell me how many inches would you consider a large pot? I'm trying to figure how much to put in a four inch pot. Thank you in advance,

Thanks for sharing your Dendrobiums. They look very healthy and happy. I have one phal. Dendrobium name is polar fire. It’s in full bloom right now and is quite a show stopper. I also have several Latoria types. They are fun to grow also. May Gods blessing be upon you.🙏🏻🤗

Hi Amy, what lovely big dendrobiums you have!
I haven't had any success with bark or moos, but they like my set up in self watering pot with leca + non-organic mineral substrate. It's also water saving. I might try out coconut chips, though.
Have a very nice beginning of the year 🌺🌺🌺 and take care. 💖

Yay! Thank you Amy! I will definitely move mine into bark this spring, and water/fertilize it more often. Your Thanksgiving cacti is still Beautiful and so is your African Violet! You are the Queen of plants and blooms! 👸
Today I moved Mystery out of WC. She's not showing any signs of new root growth. I have her in bark with a little moss on the surface. I used a root hormone. We'll see what happens. 🙏 Oh, and I staked her. Do you always stake your orchids when you repot them? I usually only stake the flower spikes. Tammy in N AL 🙋‍♀️

Another question is do you use grow light to supplement the east windows in your sun room? I live in northern Alabama about 1 hour drive south of Nashville. I have dozen east facing windows similar to your set up. I do have 3 growth lights brought from Home Depot. If you don’t use anything, I may turn mine off.

I will be re- potting my Dendrobium Phalaenopsis soon. Can I cut the old canes?

Hi, in the video, you mentioned the dendrobium doesn’t like move around. Do you put it back the same position after water it? I had bad habit move mine to different places. After watching your video, I decided not to move them. But when they be watered, I have to move them to mud room with big sink. Is that ok?
