How does this change the no-fault reason of "removing the property from the rental market" - have there been changes to that with the new law?

I thought about investing in California real estate when I was in the Navy back in the '90s. Thankfully I invested in Wichita, Kansas instead because if I had invested in California I would be bankrupt right now.

wondering if you know whether or not a landlord using owner/family move in to ask the tenant to move, can then charge the family member rent to move into that property?

The strict rules will make landlords uneasy to rent just to anyone. People who need a place to live will find it tougher to be accepted. More complaints about homelessness. Of course more laws will follow along. And so it goes on and on. When will they learn?

To confirm, the landlord must still apply for permits for the substantial remodel; however, one of the differences with SB567 is that the permits must be submitted with the notice to vacate and for the tenant to review. Do I have that correct?

How does this apply to a homeowner who has decided to sell a renter occupied house? And if a 60 day notice to vacate is given on say March 1 2024 with a vacate date of May 1 2024, does ab 567 apply?

If the property is sold without lease agreement but only estoppel, can the new landlord vacate the person whose name is not on the estoppel even he's been living there for a long time

Whewwww, thank gosh I am renting out my SFH, thereby exempting me from these stupid laws. I just need another 4-years, minimally, before I can sell it and buy my retirement-home in a GATED 55+ area!

I might be in the minority. Believe it or not, most of my tenants don’t like these new rules. They want the government to bud out of their renting business.
