I disagree. The reason politicians echo christian nationalism especially white Christian nationalism is because they know that the church has been extremely successful at pulling in low I.Q., bigoted, narcissists with that grift and in the 70's with the anti abortion movement the GOP exploited that same grift to energize its base as well as in the 1960s with segregation. These people like to drop the "Christian" label as a premise to gain integrity and credibility that they haven't earned. Also if you listen to Malcolm Xs speech on how white is used vs black in our vocabulary you can understand more. These conservatives are angry because they can't consistently rely on their race and religion to get special privileges. They are just looking for an opportunity to call for a white ethno state without looking like complete social douchebags. They hate Biden when he is helping people more than Trump because Biden includes people of color and makes their wet dream where they can Lord over other humans less of a possibility. Conservatives want chaos, injustice, economic failure, plagues, war, poverty, death, and destruction to lead to hopelessness so they can walk in from the dark shadows and offer authoritarianism as a solution for the disasters they fostered.
