How Grant Williams Made the Boston Celtics Beat the Bucks

The Boston Celtics just paid back the Milwaukee Bucks in game 2 by completely changing up their strategy. There were some red flags that I see coming for Boston for game 3, but first we need to dive into 3 reasons why the Celtics were able to dominate the defending champs. The first reason was all about ball movement and the way the Celtics chose to attack the bucks. I can’t say enough about how important the first 3 or 4 possessions are, and these teams couldn’t have ran things any more different. Take a look at this possession as Boston is giving up Good shots for a Gooder ones. This does two things, obviously it creates great quality high percentage looks, but it engages the entire team and sets the tone for the rest of the game.

This was Giannis attemkoompos reaction to scoring a basket….I broken down exactly how the Boston Celtics were able to frustrate the Greek Freak to the point of exhaustion.

The Celtics have evened things up in the Eastern Conference Semifinals with an impressive win over the Bucks in Game 2.

A red-hot first half set the tone for the Celtics, who shot 20 of 43 (46.5 percent) from 3-point range in the game. Jaylen Brown scored 25 first-half points before finishing the game with 30 points. Jayson Tatum added 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting and Grant Williams sank six 3s off the bench to score 21 points in the game.

as For Milwaukee, the offense just wasn't there. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored five points in the first half before scoring 23 points in the final two frames. As a team, the Bucks shot 3 of 18 (16.7 percent) from 3-point range.

Great breakdown. This series will come down to Grant Williams' defense on Giannis and Boston's 3 point shooting ability.

Grant has really improved this season. At times last season I wanted to scratch my eyes out whenever he was on the floor but now he’s a real contributor to a contender

Definitely the Giannis stopper for sure. Completely locked down Giannis with his 42 points. Give the Celtics the trophy already.

Curious how you’ve learned all this. Was it mostly self taught or was it taught to you? Fell in love with basketball couple years ago and have just been devouring any sort of insight I can find and I really think your channels a gem

I was also thinking that double teaming Giannis was hurting the Celtics a lot. I am a Bucks fan, but I want the Celtics to give a proper challenge to the Bucks, so they can learn and grow. If you play vs teams that don't expose your weaknesses, then you never grow and get better. This series will be great. Hope the Bucks stop forcing shots like they did in the first half of game 2.

The problem is that the Bucks showed Ime what they plan to do next game when they attempted to come back. Ime is a freaking brilliant coach, so I'm sure he's got something special for the pick and roll that the bucks started showing at the end.

You got a great channel Just subscribed. Would like a breakdown of the Heat team, because I believe they’re the overlooked power house

Lets face it, Giannis fell into the Celtics defensive trap and after a couple of early misses he was trying like crazy to score in the 1st quarter. He was stacking bad shot after bad shot, something very uncommon for him. This shows his mental state at the time. Also, no movement from the Bucks and no adjustments at the Celtics plan to go easy on double-triple teams on Giannis.

So, I don't believe that Celtics defensive scheme, or some lock down D was the catalyst, but rather the 1) mental handling of things from Giannis, 2) Bucks inability to adjust on offense and the outrageous percentages from the Celtics in the first half.

I'd probably watch this again after bucks destroyed the celtics on the next game.

The Celtics defense and offense kinda exposes the star centered teams.

Udoka was so adaptive to the opponent’s style so I bet on Celtics in 6-7 game series. Bucks are short-handed offensively w/o Khris, Boston is more flexible defensively and got more Giannis stoppers.

Giannis doesn’t want that Grant smoke. The giant killer is making him work, dude is getting tired. Also big Al is doing the same. Ime is doing a masterful job preparing his team. Bucks are in trouble
